ROSEMONT, Pa. - First years Klarisse Torriente (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) and Shannon Mack (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh) were named as Honor Enrollees to the CSAC Athelete of the Week for the week ending 09/05/2010.
Torriente was named to The Colonial States Athletic Conference honor roll for women’s cross country. This was a historic event for Rosemont College, as this meet was the first for Rosemont's new Cross Country team. Klarisse represented this new CSAC team by finishing 7th overall with a time of 20:15.
Mack was named to The Colonial States Athletic Conference honor roll for the week ending September 5, 2010. Mack was a key member of the squad's 4-3 victory over Bryn Mawr College. In the 17th minute, Mack used her stick to save a shot that was on the goal line while her goalkeeper was out of position. The freshman also made a key stop late in the final minutes of the second half as Bryn Mawr was applying pressure to try to tie the score. Shannon's defensive stick-work intercepted the Bryn Mawr rush and enabled Rosemont to again take offensive control and run out the clock for the victory.
