ROSEMONT, Pa. - Several Rosemont student-athletes were acknowledged for their postive contribution and impact on their alma mater at Rosemont's 2011 Founders' Day on April 14 in Cardinal Hall. Founders' Day is an annual institutional celebration at Rosemont College that recognizes individuals and groups who best represent the Mission of the College.

An entertaining video, "The Cornelia Connelly Project" was presented early in the festivities. The video featured students interviewing staff, faculty and fellow students about how much is really known about the founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, an order of the Roman Catholic Sisters. Rosemont student-athletes Barbara Lally, Ashley Montecchio and Ron Vogelei were all given kudos for their efforts in producing the video.

Rosemont's Provost, William Harvey announced the Dean of Students Awards, one for each class. Of the four classes, three of the winners were Rosemont student-athletes. Winning for the Class of 2014 was Klarisse Torriente; Class of 2013 was Ron Vogelei and the Class of 2011 was Greg Gardner.

Sarah Cazella, the Director of Student Activies announced Hailey Summa as the winner of the Class Leadership Award for the Class of 2014.

Congratulations to all of the winners at Founders' Day 2011, including our student-athletes who contribute to their alma mater in and outside of competition.
