Chaney, Gardner Earn CSAC Basketball Honors

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Justin Chaney (So., Williamstown, N.J.) and Greg Gardner (Sr., Sharon Hill, Pa.) have been named as recipients of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) All-Conference and Sportsmanship awards for the 2010-2011 season.

Chaney was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Chaney earned the honor, being Rosemont's leading scorer with 364 points, averaging 14.6 points/game. Chaney also was in the national DIII rankings for three-point shooting percentage, ultimately shooting 42.7% from beyond the arc. Chaney also dished 91 assists to lead the team.

Gardner was awarded the Sportsmanship Award as Rosemont's representative for the 2010-2011 season.

Aston, PA February 18, 2011 – The Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the recipients of the Player, Rookie, and Coach of the year; First, Second and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams and individual sportsmanship awards.

Cabrini College’s Cory Lemons (Guard, Wilmington, DE/Glasgow) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s 2010-2011 Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. After starting in 23 of 24 games and playing a team high of 797 total minutes in the season, Lemons ended with an average of 15.8 points, and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting .517 from the field goal range. The Sophomore helped his team to a 16-2 conference record and a over record of 20-5 on the season.

Neumann University’s Mark Blount (Guard, Philadelphia, PA/William Penn) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s 2010-2011 Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year. As a freshman Blount started in 22 of 23 games, averaged 16.5 points, and 6.4 rebounds. Blount helped the Neumann Knights to a conference record of 12-6 earning them a #4 seed going into playoffs.

Cabrini College’s Marcus Kahn, the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Coach of the Year takes away the award for his third year in a row.  The 2010-11 Coach of the Year lead his team to a regular season record of (16-2 CSAC, 20-5 Overall), earning them the #1 seed going into The CSAC Playoffs. Cabrini’s first win of the season, a 79-47 decision on the road against Drew University, marked Kahn’s 100^th win in his career.
